Before any teen decides to use marijuana, they should wait to see the kinds of cancer, resapiratory and imune system problems that occur after the use of the drug.
Cancer
It’s hard to know for sure whether marijuana use alone causes cancer, because many people who smoke marijuana also smoke cigarettes and use other drugs. But it is known that marijuana smoke contains some of the same, and sometimes even more, of the cancer-causing chemicals found in tobacco smoke. Studies show that someone who smokes five joints per day may be taking in as many cancer-causing chemicals as someone who smokes a full pack of cigarettes every day (15) .
Lungs and airways
People who smoke marijuana often develop the same kinds of breathing problems that cigarette smokers have: coughing and wheezing. They tend to have more chest colds than nonusers. They are also at greater risk of getting lung infections like pneumonia.
Immune system
Our immune system protects the body from many agents that cause disease. It is not certain whether marijuana damages the immune system of people, but both animal and human studies have shown that marijuana impairs the ability of T-cells in the lungs' immune systemm to fight off some infections.

Many would like too know about how many teens use marijuana
Contrary to popular belief, most teenagers do not use marijuana. Among students surveyed in a yearly national survey, only about one in seven 10th graders report they are current marijuana users (that is, used marijuana within the past month). Fewer than one in five high school seniors is a current marijuana user (10).
These statistics could be wrong because many teenagers are not answering the surveys truthful that the schools are trying to give to them. I need to do a little more research to get some better caculations. I plan on doing a survey with the teenagers in my community. If I,m correct it will show that about 3 in seven use marijuana or have tried it. I plan on doing the survey this weekend.

Marijuana Use Can Threaten Teen's Academic Success
Some factions of society still try to perpetrate the myth that marijuana is nothing nore than a harmless and misunderstood drug no more dangerous than alcohol or cigarettes. While alcohol and cigarettes are undeniably harmful they are also legal under certain conditions and for this reason comparing marijuana to them is irresponsible and gives teens the wrong impression. The bottom line is that marijuana and other illegal drugs have real and proven negative effects on teen academic performance. Now a new initiative by the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign hopes to educate teens and parents about these risks.
